Now your host, here’s Robyn. Robyn: Hello, and welcome to Pediatric Therapy TV. I am your host, Robyn Ackerman. Today I am sitting here with Dana Pais, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. Dana, can you explain to everybody, what is the vestibular system? Dana: The vestibular system is part of your nervous system and it’s actually located in your inner ear. It is the foundation for the sensation of gravity and it responds to changes in head position, and it also contributes to balance and equilibrium. There are two vestibular receptors. One responds to gravity and the other responds to movement. The interaction of these two receptors tells us where our body is in space and how our body is moving. Robyn: Thank you so much for explaining that, and thank you to our viewers. And remember, keep on blossoming. Announcer: This has been Pediatric Therapy TV, where we bring peace of mind to your family with the best in educational programming.
