Student Affiliation Programs

Be the best, by learning from the best!

The Student Affiliation Program at NSPT was created in order for our experienced staff to provide mentorship and training to graduate level students from universities and colleges in the fields of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology during the students transition through their academic career. Our Student Affiliation Program gives our therapists an opportunity to develop the students clinical and professional skills while providing unique experiences such as working in a multi-disciplinary environment, a week by week standardized program for requirements and assignments, and trainings and supervision sessions that will allow the students to blossom. Each of our student affiliation programs have been designed to best fit the specific discipline and incorporates criteria from AOTA, APTA, and ASHA. If you are interested in being apart of our student affiliation program at NSPT, please have your school supervisor reach out to us at It is expected that all students follow a professional dress code.

“I completed my level II, three month, occupational therapy fieldwork at North Shore Pediatric Therapy (NSPT). I found it to be a well-rounded and beneficial learning experience. NSPT staff was welcoming and supportive of my learning. My fieldwork educator provided a gradual transition and increased my responsibilities over the course of my fieldwork. NSPT is a unique outpatient setting as a wide range of services are available to clients at one location. It has been valuable as a student to participate in an interdisciplinary approach to treatment. The intimate setting provided an opportunity for me to observe and interact with other professionals, allowing me to learn from all of the staff on site. Overall, I enjoyed my time at NSPT and feel the site and staff gave me a chance to grow as an occupational therapy student.”
